Public Hearing Meeting Minutes
September 8, 2004
6:30 p.m. - Bergen Fire Hall


The Public Hearing was Called to Order by Deputy Mayor Anna Marie Barclay at 6:30 p.m. with the following present:
Trustee Robert Bausch
Trustee Virginia Adams
Trustee Paul Cooper
Mayor Wayne Bailey - absent

Also in attendance: Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer Tracy Jong, DPW Supervisor Joe Chimino, Dale Leither, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Kevin Jacobson and Frank Austin.

The legal notice was published in the Batavia Daily on August 16, 2004 concerning:

Local law no. 11 of 2004 - A local law amending local law no. 6 of 1985 setting revised debt service charges and sewer rates in connection with the use of and the discharge of waters and wastes into the Village of Bergen sewer system

 

The Deputy Mayor read the legal notice aloud and opened the floor to comments from the public regarding Local Law No. 11 of 2004. Copies of the proposed local laws were available for public inspection at the Clerk's Office.

The floor was opened for questions. No questions from the public were received.

Kevin Jacobson made a presentation about Maxwell School's Environmental Finance Center and what services it provides to municipalities and the basic criteria that are analyzed in developing a sewer rate.

Tracy Jong explained how the sewer rates were derived and policies of the subcommittee that influenced the rate structures.

There being no further comments from the public or members present, the hearing was closed at 7:10 p.m.
